East Kansas Agri-Energy was recently recognized by the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) for its excellent workplace safety record with a KSafe award.  The award acknowledges the more than 100,000 employee hours worked at the plant without a lost-tim accident.  The company received a certificate from the KDOL Industrial Safety and Health Division.

The Kansas State Safety Award Program (KSafe) was developed to identify Kansas employee and employer accomplishments in workplace safety and health initiatives among private sector employees.  East Kansas Agri-Energy's current safety record, now in excess of 225,000 hours without a lost-time accident, began on April 18, 2005.

Since the KSafe  program began at the start of 2006,  29 Kansas businesses have been recognized for their outstanding safety records after reaching 100,000 ; 500,000 ; or 1,000,000 continuous employee hours worked without a lost-time accident.
